If you’re going to host
a grand soiree, you have to surround yourself with the best of the best and go from there.
That’s exactly what I did ~ and the rest is
history….
From Claudia Strasser, author, designer,
photographer and the toast of Paris
who came and wowed us once again, to designer Barbara Gray of Cottage White, who not only hosted Claudia at her oceanfront villa
and who was my cheerleader from day one, but who put together the phenomenal
black and white Parisianne salon that stopped everyone in their tracks, to the
fabulous 2 designers I lined up, who I knew could stage 2 tents like no others
~ my buddy, the gorgeous stylist ~ Monique
Hemminger who can work more magique with the color pink and her amazing
collection of props than any other French designer out there with her vintage pink
stove and pink mixer and hundreds
of faded pink roses and yards and yards of lace for the over-the-top, pop-up patisserie extraordinaire, to Sylvia
Asmussen of both Paris Cowgirl
and the hot, new styling and prop rental company, Madam Palooza who put together the tres Francais, book-signing stage that was so elegant and befitting
our Miss Claudia with its’ layers of French details including swagged curtains,
vintage fabrics, exquisite furnishings, gilt candlelabras and even a Bridget
Bardot movie playing on a vintage tv set! Quelle perfect!
Miss Kristy Lynn of Sweet Insanity Bake Shop
took us over the moon with her outrageously delicious, pastel macarons, both
petite and full size in many signature flavors like rosebud and lavender! No
one could eat just one! Her custom creations are fascinating works of art and
her company is growing by leaps and bounds as a result of this creative culinary genius.
And then of course, there is ~ dear friend, designer and brilliant artist Karen Lampard, who not only painted yards and yards of satin fabric
with fabulous monograms, French poems and Paris Hotel addresses but who took
the front room, as she always does,
completely over the top ~ by handpainting select pages from ‘The Great Gatsby’
in her beautiful script ~ all over the floor! Gold gilt against grey concrete
has never looked more stunning!
Yes, each
and every dealer/designer of Vignettes took it up several thousand notches and
all in all ~ it was a banner day celebrating 18 years of faded French
décor and so much more!
A huge MERCI BEAUCOUP to all of our loyal and
fantastic customers ~ for supporting Vignettes so faithfully throughout these
many years.
Cheers to all!
Designer Cake Pops By Julissa
